Data is at the heart of evidence-based practice. We can help you identify the data you need to collect to understand the local context and to measure outcomes for children.
The aim is to create a manageable set of indicators that not only tell you what you need to know but help you to ask the right questions.
Member organisations have clear safeguarding responsibilities, and the LSCB has a duty to ensure these are being appropriately discharged. We can help you develop your Section 11 audit tools and provide an independent view of members' performance.
The aim is to improve safeguarding practice across the board, leading to better outcomes for children.
LSCB performance drives the changes that are needed to improve outcomes for children. We can help you develop local standards for your board that will drive up performance.
The aim is to develop excellence in the way the LSCB carries out its business, leading to a clearer strategy, more participation and better decision making.

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

Total quality management
We recognise that the business span of the LSCB is broad and expanding. Rapid expansion needs to be closely managed if quality is not to be sacrificed. There are huge expectations on LSCBs to deliver on the broader safeguarding agenda. At the same time, the board needs to balance this with its core business of protecting children from harm.

In response to the need to manage quality, we have developed the four-square model to help boards plan their work to ensure quality.

To see how the model applies to your board, try our simple self-audit.
